Bring Back XTH, and make it so that you can only use reward points for updating PvP Armor.... That way it still gives the people interested in PvP a reason to predict. That way those people who have 30+ accounts will either have really nice PvP Character Armor or disregaurd the predictions all together. Just a thought :/

It's true, the incredibly poor CR coupled with the incompetent programming team (5 months - seriously?!) has really discouraged me from ever purchasing anything more from ANet. I'll probably buy GW2 in the hopes that it will be good and a worthy investment, but I'll probably stop playing in months when they pull the same bullshit they've been pulling with the original Guild Wars.

On another note, I was going to buy Aion when I heard about it since it sounded really cool, but again - this complete lack of CR and work on the part of ANet has led me to believe that Aion will suffer the same fate, 70$+ of worthlessness.

You know Aion has absolutely nothing to do with ANet, right?

You also know that judging the work of the full development team by what a group of less than 5 programmers can keep together with regards to a mostly out-of-game feature in a largely abandoned game is just maybe a little short-sighted?

To be honest, most of his post about the CR was true and always has been even before the less-than-full development team. It is true though that Aion has nothing to do with it.

Some personnel are shared either at NC soft HQ or somewhere, if there were no association between GW and Aion, /aion emote wouldn't be in GW.

Hahaha right, free gold generator, awful trolling there. Unless you were serious, in which case I'd suggest you plugged your brain into the socket before posting.

Of course there is an association: Aion was developed by the NCSoft HQ office (NCKorea) and re-launched for the western market by NCWest. ArenaNet is a subsidiary of NCSoft, and I believe NCWest is or acts much like a subsidary to NCSoft (HQ) also. But that's as far as the relationship goes; there have been no personel shared. Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 are both developed purely by ArenaNet, with NCSoft handling some peripheral services like customer support (not to be confused with community management.)

Me too but I'd rather have it as a Halloween treat. )

Oh and just bury XTH we just don't need another easy exploit in the game for players making easy gold. Get rid of this, nerf SF and make SC in the high end areas require 30 minutes of play and no more random ecto drops and everything will be fine. )

Yes, it is an epic fail and that feature of the game has been removed. This also shows us how GW2 would be like:

ANet annoucement to their community: There is a bug in our XTH implementation and we are going to fix it!......(aside) yeah in 10 years time...

I am not going to trust anything they say from now on. That's my lesson learnt, I suggest those of you who are still waiting for XTH to return, to do the same.

Yup, sorry ANet, but the way you handle small things in GW1 is the only evidence I have for how you will handle problems in GW2. the XTH by itself is no big deal - I didn't buy an extra accounts to take advantage of it or anything.

It's just one more in a whole string of small unresolved or poorly implemented issues that lets me know I don't want to do more business with the company.

Dumping zkeys into the system isn't the way to solve any of the economic issues in GW.

I agree that the failure to fix XTH doesn't look good for ANet. They made a promise and did not keep it. This surprised me greatly (even though I'm glad to see it gone), because XTH was such a big deal for so many people.

I am surprised that this thread remains open despite multiple instances of mild thread necromancy.

Martin, we are hoping they'll just make a simple statement, instead of pretending this whole thing never happened. Even if it's that XTH won't receive further testing or support, that'll kill the issue. Instead, we don't deserve an explanation, and that irks many. This is the new, improved CR we are talking about.

I don't need an explanation about XTH it's gone and that's all the really mattered. Soon SF and then we can move onto other things to make the game more balanced for everyone. )

well XTH..ok really Anet? I'd like to know how Anet can remove HB and TA and put in Sealed deck (Codex Arena)..which I still stand by that they only needed to remove TA, but nonetheless....how can they be adding a new outpost with different gameplay for PvP, but yet XTH hasnt really even progressed yet and IS still down!!!

Also, if they say they have the number of RP people were suppose to get..there jsut working on a bug..why cant they kinda just give us our points and keep working on it??

Finally, really? you update XTH Anet..and it fails enormously, i dont know about others..but I was doing fine with the way XTH was b4 the failed update...especially now that HB is gone, and Codex Arena really has no turney system i see any time soon, IF it did come back would it just be GvG? - yes i know, its a little big and i can bee seen as raging, but XTH was failed in May predictions (giving points out in June)..its almost November...coming around 7 months on 1 bug..btw Happy Halloween all

It seems ANet is hiring a new web designer who should also be able to include some Web 2.0 features into GW2.

This guy would probably have to show his merits by making the XTH work smooth both ingame and on the web.

My cents regarding the XTH debacle and the recent job offer. I wonder if the XTH guys got replaced or fired.

good insight, longasc. That was certainly ineptitude in its most visible fashion.

Would still be nice to get an official word about their plans with XTH.
